    Open festival of cinema of the CIS and Baltic countries ”Kinoshok”

    One of the most remarkable film forums in the former Soviet Union. The festival of cinema of the CIS countries, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia has been held annually in September on the coast of the Black Sea since 1992.

    Founders of the festival are playwriter and director Victor Merezhko, actress Irina Shevchuk and journalist Sergey Novozhilov.

    The festival has the official status of the Open festival of cinema of the CIS and Baltic countries since 1995. In 2001, the festival received the state status and was included in the number of the Russian festivals held with participation of means of the federal budget.

    The festival purpose – identification and professional support of the talented cinematographers working in all genres of cinema whose creativity bears spirituality, esthetic novelty, preserving of unified cinema space, national cultures, cooperation between cinematographers of the above-mentioned countries, promoting of national film art.
